About

The Public Policy Group evaluates policies and designs scalable solutions to improve the lives of minorities and disadvantaged groups and strengthen social cohesion. As part of the Immigration Policy Lab, we often focus on pressing questions in immigration and integration policy.

Our projects shed light on the drivers of attitudes towards immigration, identify the effects of asylum and citizenship policies on immigrants and local communities, design and test innovative integration policies, and develop strategies to curb online hate speech. Using causal inference, machine learning, and natural language processing, we pair (quasi-)experimental research designs with administrative, survey, and digital trace data to drive evidence-informed social science research and teaching. By collaborating with government agencies, NGOs, and companies, we aim to translate our findings into public policy with lasting impact.
